Gymnastics

We have had so much fun learning gymnastics over the last 5 weeks.

  

My favourite thing was the Ribbons.  They were sparkly pink and I felt like I was going to fly.  The ribbons were swishing and swishing all around the hall. It was fantastic!!! - Alex

My favourite thing was the beam that you walk on with the long ribbon.  It was fun!  I like gymnastics and my friends liked it too!  - Callum


My favourite activity was the parachute.  The ball blasted on my head and scraped on the floor.  The ball spun in the air and it was awesome! - William


My favourite activity was the hand stands.  I started to wibble wobble but I stayed like a statue.  My legs lay on the wall they were like two sticks, but I still stayed up in the air.  Everyone had fun! - Ben

Reading Time

We are buddies with some children from Russell St School.  Today as part of reading Rian and Halee videoed themselves retelling a story that they have read from their book box, next week their buddies from Russell St School are going to ask them some questions - we can't wait!!!

Grasshopper Tennis

We played Grasshopper Tennis with Jarad.  We did lots of different things in the last 4 weeks and kept on trying our best.  Have a look at the video of us playing grasshopper tennis.  It was f...f...f...FUN!!!!!

Letter of the Week

Rian and Kyla were the photographers for the day.  They went and took photos of all the things that begin with the letter D.

  

Red and Black Day

Today we got dressed up in red and black to raise money for the Christchurch people who have been in the earthquake.  We raised $69.00 just in LC 5!

To the Garden.....

Today we watched this little movie clip about being in the garden.  We then got to write our own stories about what it is like in our garden.  Take a listen to some of the children recording their story.

Our Bumble Bees

We made some bumble bees with Mrs Lunn and when Miss Rits walked in the classroom she had to watch out that she wasn't stung!  We have written some stories, have a listen to these 5 children reading theirs.

Bubbles Bubbles Bubbles

This week we read a book and poem all about BUBBLES!
We went outside and blew some bubbles all over the playground and talked about where the bubbles went.
